- About WebMail
This service is available for authorized accounts only as an enhancement to POP3 or IMAP Clients.
Web Mail services give users the ability to check their e-mail from anywhere on the web in addition
to offering the ability to manage their mail more efficiently.
Please note: This is not considered a replacement for POP3/IMAP Clients such as Outlook Express or
Internet Mail.
- Security Concerns
There are a few things you should consider when using ANY web-based email system:

To protect the privacy of your mailbox, make sure you Logout before leaving the Web-based
e-mail services. This is extremely important to prevent unauthorized access to your
mailbox.

Malicious users can embed scripts in email messages disguised as images. These scripts
can do little more than redirect you to other pages, possibly on other servers. Beware
of unexpected requests to re-enter passwords or other data. When logging in to the webmail
system, pay strict attention that the login screen is actually at
http://mail.midatlanticbb.com:8383, and not at some other
domain.
This method is similar to that used to harass Hotmail users December 1999 thru January 2000,
but is far less severe because WebMail does not store ANY user data in actual webpages, nor
in cookies.
Ultimately, one must weigh the need for security against convenience.
WebMail should never be used to send nor receive email of a sensitive nature.
All MidAtlantic BroadBand customers have secure, standard email accounts for such purposes.

Acceptable Use Policy.
